Over 120 million years ago, huge meat-eating dinosaurs roamed across the ‘Surrey’ countryside. Not the Surrey we know today but a landscape covered ferns, pines and fir trees. Baryonyx was the scourge of the rivers and lakes of the Dorking-Guildford area with large curved claws and long, toothed jaws adapted for catching fish!
On Saturday the 1st of September dinosaurs and some of their living reptile friends return to Surrey to star alongside scientists who perform exciting and magical experiments. Reptile Celebrities, The Dinosaur Roadshow and the aptly named Mad Science group will star on the area called the Village Green beside Railton Road, Queen Elizabeth Park, Guildford, GU2. The occasion is known as the Queen Elizabeth Park Late Summer Fayre, a fun day for residents and friends and families. There will be two shows by Mad Science at 1.00pm and 3.00pm respectively. The Dinosaur Roadshow and Reptile Celebrities will accessible throughout the afternoon. In between times you can eat and drink or visit craft stalls, play games, run races or enjoy a range of inflatables. Details of the cost and availability of tickets for the science shows can be obtained by contacting rtj.moody@virgin.net
