Welcome Home Parade

The 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment (known as The Vikings) are back at their home in Surrey after a tough six-months in Helmand Province during which time 9 members of the Regiment were killed.
At the Mayor’s invitation a homecoming parade in Guildford town centre will take place between 10.30 and approx 11.30 am next Tuesday, 20 Nov. when 400 soldiers from the regiment will march through the town centre with a military band.
The parade will assemble on the Town Bridge at 10.30am and march up the High Street to Holy Trinity Church. Following a short speech and blessing outside the church, the parade will continue down North Street and along the A281 back to the Town Bridge. The event is set to finish around 11.30am.
